Silk Route Offbeat Trip

Overview:

The Silk Route in East Sikkim that tourists can explore (from Rongli to the Nathula Pass ) is actually a part of the ancient Silk Road. Apart from historical significance, the stunning vistas of the route attract thousands of tourists every year. Although, a lot of tourist flock from Bengal during the months of October, this part of Sikkim is still not familiar to tourists from other parts of India. There are actually no major towns and hotels enroute, there are just a few quaint villages that offer homestays with basic amenities to the tourists. Visit Sikkim Silk Route for its pristine views of the mountains, the dizzying zig-zag roads and hairpin bends and serene lakes.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Pick up from NJP / Siliguri / Bagdogra to Silery Gaon overnight halt at Silery Gaon

Day 2: Silery Gaon to Reshi Khola via Aritar lake, Rai Temple, British Bunglow overnight halt at Reshikhola

Day 3: Reshikhola to Lungthung via sightseen Lampokhari lake Rangli Bazar que Khola water falls, Zuluk - overnight halt at Lungthung

Day 4: Lungthung to Nathang via sightseeing - Thambi viewpoint, Nathula Old Baba Mandir kupup, Elephant lake overnight halt at Nathang

Day 5: Early morning sunrise trip to Eagle’s Nest Bunker / Lungthung. Return to Nathang for breakfast. Leave Nathang after breakfast and reach Mankhim via Rongli over night halt at Mankhim

Day 6: Mankhim to NJP / Siliguri / Bagdogra drop

Please Note

  • In case of unavailability in the listed hotels, arrangement for an alternate accommodation will be made in a hotel of similar standard
  • Check-in and check-out times at hotels would be as per hotel policies. These are generally pre-decided as per operation schedules
  • Transportation shall be provided as per the itinerary and will not be at disposal
  • Rates are based on above mentioned pax travelling together, any change in no of pax, days and date of journey will attract re-quote

  • Payment of 50% of Package Cost is required within 5 days prior travel date for booking. Booking is confirmed on payment of booking amount and the balance needs to be paid on Day 1 of your trip

  • Less than 3 Days Prior to Travel Date: 100% of the Package Cost as Cancellation Charge
  • 3-10 Days Prior to Travel Date: 75% of the Package Cost as Cancellation Charge
  • 10-30 Days Prior to Travel Date: 50% of the Package Cost as Cancellation Charge
  • More than 30 Days: Full Refund of Package Cost Excluding Processing Fees

  • Breakfast-Puri / Roti / Chapati & Sabji
  • Lunch-Rice, Sabji, Dal, Bhaji & Egg Curry
  • Evening Snacks-Veg Pakora / Momo / any traditional Sikkimese Dishes
  • Dinner-Roti / Rice, Sabji & Chicken Curry

Dos & Don’ts

  • Most important thing to keep in mind is that never expect luxury accommodation during travelling Silk Route Sikkim. You cannot expect luxury meals, facilities etc. there as it is remote destination and mountainous area
  • Carry good number of woollen garments, sweaters, gloves, and caps to protect you from the cold
  • Suggest not staying at high altitude area if you are travelling with children and elderly person as it will create headaches, dizziness and vomiting among the aged and children
  • Carry transparent glasses, sunglasses, torch, power bank, gas lighter, small knives, and necessary items with you. Also carry first aid box etc
  • Carry Original and Photocopy of Id Proof like Voter ID Cards including passport size photograph for Silk Route Permit. Need to carry Birth Certificate or ration card in mandatory for minor too
