The Silk Route in East Sikkim that tourists can explore (from Rongli to the Nathula Pass ) is actually a part of the ancient Silk Road. Apart from historical significance, the stunning vistas of the route attract thousands of tourists every year. Although, a lot of tourist flock from Bengal during the months of October, this part of Sikkim is still not familiar to tourists from other parts of India. There are actually no major towns and hotels enroute, there are just a few quaint villages that offer homestays with basic amenities to the tourists. Visit Sikkim Silk Route for its pristine views of the mountains, the dizzying zig-zag roads and hairpin bends and serene lakes.
